This chapter explores certain relationship issues that have always existed, but which are far more frequently presented in this era’s couple’s therapy. Included are many of the dynamics brought about by the Internet (such as less time spent together due to social media, smart phones becoming the new “paramour,” and the respective addictions they trigger), ethical non-monogamy, living together (and buying homes) vs. marriage and the resulting issues, DINKS (double income, no kids), gray divorce (as people live longer), conscious uncoupling, and various types of “designer arrangements” for relationships. Therapeutic interventions to address these issues are discussed.

摘要
