His work exhibits deep, lifelong learning. Every poem of his is an effort of transformation toward the expanse of the cosmos, both inside and out. His work offers encouragement to his readers to consider all the depths and heights that a well-lived life of reflection has to offer. Will is as aware as anyone I know of what our politics might imply, where the present moment might be taking us, and what history has to show us for the future. He is also soberly hopeful, despite our current catastrophes. He speaks from the depths of reflection and not from the tinny surface of attempted accomplishment. He has many books published but is not interested in a status above others. He stands alone but is not isolated.
