“Blaze as Unknowable Drift”: A Note on Will Alexander
摘要
In “‘Blaze as Unknowable Drift’: A Note on Will Alexander,” the author briefly recounts how his friendship with Alexander resulted in his association with City Lights Books, where he would edit two collections of Alexander’s poems, Compression & Purity (2011) and Divine Blue Light (for John Coltrane) (2022). He goes on to consider Alexander’s poetry through reference to Georges Bataille’s concept of excess, how it exceeds both our ordinary ways of making sense and any technical analysis of its construction.
