The globalization of markets promotes the internationalization of companies, offering a competitive advantage by facilitating business growth and consolidation. Consequently, it has become essential to identify employees capable of meeting emerging organizational needs. This study aimed to understand the challenges faced by expatriate workersExpatriate workers in a company and to propose strategies to support their adaptation to the host country. An online questionnaire was completed by 157 expatriate workersExpatriate workers with access to email. The results indicate that autonomous motivation is a critical factor for improvedSociocultural adaptation sociocultural adaptationImpact on adaptation. No significant differences were observed in the impact of the three types of support analyzed onSociocultural adaptation sociocultural adaptation. In addition, the variables of the participants’ gender and the continent where they work were also studied. Social relationships, social communication, and work performance were found to be positively and significantly associated with organizational support. Support from colleagues, managers, and the organization appears to foster expatriates’ adaptation to the host country.
