The chapter explores the socio-demographic profiles of human traffickers in Indonesia who committed domestic labour and sex industry trafficking. It analyses factors such as age, gender, occupation, ethnicity, residence, religious affiliation, and education level. The chapter also explores cases where victims turn into perpetrators, the nature of relationships between traffickers and victims, and the types of relationships among traffickers themselves. Additionally, the chapter details the modus operandi of traffickers, covering recruitment methods, trafficking routes, and the organisational structures within trafficking groups, such as the type of group, size, characteristics, and division of labour. Information on the financial gains obtained by traffickers is also presented, providing a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics at play in human trafficking networks in Indonesia.
