Most organisations rely on technology within their business functions, which increases the chances of cybersecurity breaches. The study aims to empower the role of technology leaders to augment cybersecurity strategies through AI tools. The main objectives include identifying the different ways to augment cybersecurity strategies through AI tools and the challenges technology leaders face in effectively implementing and augmenting cybersecurity strategies to ensure the readiness of technology leaders to tackle all anticipated cybersecurity attacks. A qualitative research approach was followed, by interviewing technology leaders to explore their perspectives, experiences, challenges and best practices. The research revealed several key themes, including leadership in enhancing cybersecurity, collaborative strategies employed, the need for continuous development and training, and the role of AI tools. The study highlights the role of technology leaders in driving an organisation's cybersecurity efforts and offers recommendations for bolstering cybersecurity readiness.
