Healthcare 4.0 Technology Adoption: The Role of Organizational Citizenship Behavior
摘要
Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is about an individual's initiatives in surpassing the predicted requirements of their role within the organization. With the advent of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the associated technologies, the healthcare industry is experiencing a paradigm shift. Despite its ability for rapid transformation in healthcare services provision, the adoption and implementation of healthcare 4.0 technologies have been challenging. In this research, we examined and evaluated how OCB can influence the adoption of healthcare 4.0 technologies. Based on Social Exchange Theory, the study examines the relationship between the five dimensions of OCB: altruism, conscientiousness, civic virtue, sportsmanship, and courtesy, with the technology acceptance measures, which consist of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Within this particular setting, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) provides a theoretical framework to explain user acceptance aspects. The amalgamation of the OCB and technology adoption concept in the literature review has been employed to formulate the research hypothesis and framework. A quantitative survey method has been used to gather data from 200 employees of public sector hospitals and employees of the Health Secretariat and district health offices of Pakistan. Regression analysis was done, and the results indicate that there is a positive significant relationship between Courtesy, altruism, and PU while altruism, conscientiousness, and Sportsmanship and PEOU. In Conclusion, OCB can play a substantial role in the acceptance and adoption of Healthcare 4.0 technologies.
