Digital Healthcare Takeoff: Current Landscape and Future Horizons
摘要
Digital health is a rapidly expanding field that involves the application of information and communication technologies to healthcare at both the individual and population levels. This approach includes tools such as electronic health records, artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, mobile applications, and telemedicine platforms. The evolution of digital health represents one of the most profound and continuous transformations in the field of medicine over the last few decades. Initially, the introduction of digital technologies began modestly, with the use of biomedical equipment and local computerized systems. Currently, digital health is in a phase of consolidation and expansion. The COVID-19 pandemic was a watershed moment for digital health, acting as a catalyst for the rapid adoption of technologies that had already been developed and tested. Digital health contributes to increased health access and health literacy through platforms such as applications, websites, and telemedicine services, enabling individuals to access reliable information and actively participate in the management of their own health. Digital health is rapidly expanding and becoming a fundamental component of healthcare systems worldwide. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and mobile applications are reshaping the delivery and monitoring of healthcare services. Moreover, enhanced governance and more robust digital ecosystems contribute to the more effective utilization of digital health.
