MIDTs: Interdisciplinary Method for Technological Research Development with a Focus on Health
摘要
This paper presents MIDTs, an interdisciplinary, user-centered and design-driven method for technological research development with a primary focus on healthcare applications. Over ten years, MIDTs has facilitated the completion of more than 70 projects, leading to academic theses, patents, and practical healthcare solutions. By integrating principles of Design Science and User-Centered Design, the methodology bridges scientific rigor and practical applicability. This article outlines the six phases of MIDTs, showcasing its structured approach to interdisciplinary challenges, and discusses its adaptability to other sectors. Results highlight its effectiveness in creating innovative, user-centered solutions addressing complex societal needs. In conclusion, MIDTs stands as a robust framework for interdisciplinary technological research and development. Its iterative, user-focused nature enables the creation of impactful, context-aware solutions that meet specific societal needs. The method’s continued refinement ensures its relevance in evolving technological landscapes and its potential application in fields beyond healthcare.
