Unveiling Creative Thinking in Special Operations
摘要
The Joint Special Operations University (JSOU), established in 2000 as the educational arm of the U.S. Special Operations Command, itself a part of the Department of Defense, introduced a Creativity and Creative Problem Solving (CPS) program to enhance the problem-solving capabilities of Special Operations Forces (SOF) professionals. This chapter traces the program's evolution, detailing its processes, tools, techniques, and other educational offerings and services. It examines the impact of CPS education across the military enterprise and discusses course content, delivery methods, and innovative strategies. JSOU's CPS courses aim to cultivate an innovative mindset and provide a toolkit for addressing complex strategic and operational challenges. Aligned with the National Defense Strategy's emphasis on agility and innovation, these courses incorporate extensive research and hands-on, team-based exercises. By integrating CPS principles into various programs, JSOU prepares military leaders to navigate the intricacies of modern warfare and strategic competition effectively.
