Modern Educational Technologies in Gifted Care: Applications and Experiences in the Saudi Context
摘要
The focus of this research is to examine the systems in place for providing care and support to gifted individuals in Saudi Arabia. It highlights the extensive efforts and specialized programs that have been implemented to nurture their talents. The study emphasizes that gifted students benefit from a range of tailored educational approaches, including accelerated learning, specialized classes, and customized curricula, all while remaining in regular classrooms. However, despite these efforts, the study identifies several challenges that need to be addressed. These challenges include a shortage of specialized teachers, a lack of comprehensive data on gifted individuals, limited enrichment programs, and inadequate physical and psychological resources. Furthermore, school-related issues such as insufficient enrichment class hours and a scarcity of specialized schools further hinder the effectiveness of support. The study also notes the lack of coordination between private sectors, schools, and families in enhancing support for gifted individuals. The importance of modern educational technologies, such as e-learning, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence, is recognized for their ability to provide customized educational experiences that cater to the specific needs of gifted students. The findings of this study highlight the necessity for improved collaboration and the development of care strategies to better support gifted individuals and address the existing challenges they face.
