The Impact of Strategic Planning on Crisis Management

Strategic planning is vital for organizations that wish to attain longevity and tangible results. This chapter investigates strategic planning's role in increased efficiency of organizations and crisis navigation, drawing special reference from government ministries. It also prioritizes the integration of creative and innovative thinking with strategic planning to facilitate the driving force of change-oriented future prospects, external environmental condition management, and optimal resource allocation. With purposive sampling techniques, a total of 559 questionnaires were distributed to top decision-makers in 13 government ministries, with a return of 518 questionnaires truly representing the data. The findings stress the dire need for continuous strategic planning activity; adoption based on strategic analysis results information system applications for crisis management processes in Government Decision-making and Crisis Preparedness capacity should be used to improve monitoring and evaluations, annual reviews on objectives developed with key stakeholders regarding early warning systems’ performance.
