Digitalisation and Media Consumption: Netflix Usage Among Young Generations
摘要
In the rapidly evolving world of digital entertainment, streaming services like Netflix have fundamentally transformed content consumption, particularly among younger generations. This study examines the consumer attitudes and behaviours of Generation Y and Z, with a specific focus on the Netflix platform. The research aimed to explore how the number of subscriptions influences content consumption patterns and user satisfaction, while also identifying key factors that impact the choice of streaming service provider. Through survey data collection and statistical analysis, it was found that, although there is no significant difference in the number of subscriptions between generations, those with multiple subscriptions demonstrate more diverse and flexible consumption habits. Satisfaction with Netflix did not show a strong correlation with the number of subscriptions, but content selection emerged as the most important factor in choosing a provider, especially among users with multiple subscriptions. The results are regarded as a pilot study intended to support streaming providers, entrepreneurs, and marketers in better understanding digital consumer behaviours. This insight can help them adapt more effectively to the preferences of younger generations in a fast-changing market environment.
