C-IONM of the RLN: How to Do It?
摘要
Continuous Intraoperative Nerve Monitoring (C-IONM) in thyroid surgery provides real-time information on nerve functional integrity. The ability of C-IONM to prevent nerve injury is dependent in part on the responsiveness of the surgical team to the neurophysiological information provided. In this setting, a standard and reproducible technique and the knowledge of warning criteria and thresholds are of utmost importance obtaining the best results. We describe our use of C-IONM during thyroid surgery using a system for vagal C-IONM with an open bipolar electrode as added component to an intermittent IONM system.
