Final Comments, Conclusions, and Data Science Perspective
摘要
R offers a well-established statistical and graphical environment for efficient data analysis, modeling, and visualization. Owing to the constantly growing number of packages dedicated to Earth science data exploration and interpretation, high-level solutions can now be obtained for scientific publications, reports, and professional documents. The growing volume of data is a positive outcome of technological advancements. Owing to these improvements, we can better understand our Blue Planet and model and predict many aspects of the global geoecosystem, with a variety of abiotic and biotic components and considerable natural complexity. However, it is also a challenge to obtain knowledge from this massive amount of data, which is frequently inaccurate, incomplete, or difficult to interpret. Moreover, the work of a data analyst requires a detective’s precision and scrutiny rather than a public speaker’s generalizations. Multidimensional and multivariate datasets are now the norm, and new technological and methodological solutions are urgently needed to analyze them.
