In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, enterprises are increasingly confronted with a multitude of uncertainties arising from technological advancements, shifting customer preferences, competitive pressures, and global disruptions, such as pandemics and economic fluctuations. Navigating these uncertainties has become a critical determinant of organizational success and sustainability. Enterprises must not only respond to external challenges but also proactively optimize their internal capabilities to maintain a competitive edge. This necessitates enterprise to be agile to efficiently manage disruptions, seizing opportunities and sustaining performance under changing business conditions. This chapter introduces the concept of the enterprise digital twin (EDT) as an aid for risk-free business experimentation. By supporting simulation of enterprise and its environment including the entire ecosystem, the EDT empowers organizations to explore complex decision spaces, evaluate strategic options, and make evidence-based decisions. The chapter presents an overview of EDT and demonstrates its potential to enhance business agility.
