This chapter outlines the processes undertaken to develop the conceptual framework shared in this book. A two-part conceptual framework for teaching critical global learning is the core contribution of this book. Chapters Four and Five will outline the components of the conceptual framework, namely the Model for Teaching Critical Global Learning in Chapter Four and the Planning Tool for Implementing Critical Global Learning in Chapter Five. Additionally, this chapter addresses the rationale for the creation of the framework and the challenges it responds to. While the conceptual framework is designed to be adaptable for use in different contexts, the purpose of this chapter is to share the processes involved in designing and implementing it within my own context in the hope that by understanding the process involved in developing a framework, others may be better equipped to adapt this framework or create their own in light of what they learn from it.
