This book focuses on sharing the outcomesCitizenship, citizens of a researchResearch, research informed study which took place within the nexus between the fields of critical thinking and global citizenshipGlobal citizenship education (GCE) (Golden, 2022). While there are significant overlaps between critical thinking and GCE, I found a gap in researchResearch, research informed that connects this intersection with the implications for higher educationHigher education (HE) (HE). This chapter will focus on conceptualising critical global learning, which I propose as the intersection between critical thinking and global citizenshipCitizenship, citizens education (GCE). In doing so, this chapter will explore, and comment on the debatesDebate, internationally, around terminologyTerminologyConceptualisations of GCE, Definitions of GCE used to defineDefine, definition, conceptualisation this field, offering a rationale for use of ‘critical global learning’ in the contextContext set out in this book.
