Generally, bolted joints of mechanical structures are rarely composed of only one bolt, and most of them are composed of multiple arrangement as shown in Fig. 5.1. In such cases, even if the load torque T around the axial direction is applied to the multiple bolted structure, it is replaced by the transverse load to the individual bolts (described in the previous chapter).
