A subset of environmental podcasts explores ecological issues through narrative and rhetoric. This chapter analyzes episodes from Outrage + Optimism and Sustainababble (2020–2021) using theories of narrative humanism and rhetorical identification. We examine how these podcasts foster emotional resonance, balancing care and delight with activist emotions like anger or guilt. Drawing on Naess, Burke, and Ratcliffe, we explore how audiences identify with environmental arguments and feel empowered to act.
