This chapter examines how algorithmic mediation structures contemporary individuation, shaping subjectivity in ways that reinforce ecological and psychosocial crises. Drawing on Stiegler’s philosophy, the chapter argues that digital capitalism accelerates a self-reinforcing cycle of data extraction, behavioral control, and environmental destruction. By privileging predictive algorithms over human deliberation, the digital economy erodes collective individuation and ecological awareness. The chapter suggests that overcoming this catastrophe requires rethinking technological mediation as a site of political and ecological resistance, reclaiming individuation as a process of open-ended transformation.
