In reference to Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16), and marketing techniques, consumer perceptions of virtual reality, as well as the impact of the metaverse on customer experiences across various industries are crucial for discussing critical performance measures for the sustainable growth of the world. Exploring the intersection of consumer rights, ethical considerations, and the sustainable development of cyber consumers vis-à-vis virtual market vendors this study examines the applicability of existing consumer protection laws on the global front as well as in India, to have a comparative understanding of developed and developing nations. Identifying the challenges in current legal frameworks and proposing innovative solutions, the study provides policy recommendations and strategies for businesses to adopt ethical and sustainable practices, contributing significantly to the discourse on consumer protection in virtual markets.
