Diaphyseal fractures in pediatric patients are a low-frequency injury, representing 1 to 2% of all fractures in this age group. These injuries generally have a good prognosis, with good long-term functional results and in their vast majority can be treated non-surgically. However, in recent years surgical management has been increasing, especially in adolescent, where reduction and osteosynthesis have allowed excellent functional results, with a prompt return to activities of daily living and sports.
