The author maps the challenges in homelessness services in Europe, including data reliability, inconsistent definitions, and fragmented policy strategies. Among the vulnerable groups affected, women experiencing homelessness face unique difficulties, often underrepresented in statistics due to gender-insensitive services. Domestic violence (DV) emerges as a significant factor contributing to women’s homelessness, necessitating empirical insights into the interplay between the two issues. Housing First (HF), an evidence-based approach to homelessness, shows promise in addressing this complex problem. The chapter aims to analyze homelessness in Europe and proposes a conceptual framework to address the challenges faced by women experiencing homelessness. It presents initial findings on how HF can support survivors in homelessness settings, providing valuable insights for shaping social work and policy interventions in addressing homelessness.
