The Human Rights Work of the Council of Europe’s Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment
摘要
The Council of Europe’s (CoE) Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) is one of the most important human rights monitoring bodies on a European level. The following text gives an insight into the work of the CPT, its principle, and standards. It reflects on the importance and impact of the CPT and the role of social work in this context. Key background information on the CPT complements an interview with the sitting German member of the CPT—the main focus of this chapter.
