Systems thinking skills required for understanding real-world complex problems are, at the time of writing this book, in high demand for specific complex systems-oriented jobs dealing with hardware, software, cyber-physical, data, autonomous, social, production, maintenance, operations, and many other types of systems. In a growing state like Colorado, systems-oriented jobs are classified as difficult to hire all over the state because the ratio of demand (available jobs) to supply (of candidates) is low and, in several cases, less than one. Understanding the causes of the shortage and how it behaves over time is a systems thinking exercise by itself.
