The Impact of Remote Work on DEI in Organizations
摘要
Though remote work, or telework, has been a feature of organizational structures since the 1970s, it was not until the COVID-19 pandemic that it was widely adopted. The pandemic and remote work have fundamentally changed the nature of work. However, most leaders’ frameworks of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are based on in-person work arrangements. To ensure leaders manage DEI effectively, they must adapt to the new workplace norms and expectations. In this chapter, we briefly review the research on remote work and highlight five considerations that leaders should reflect upon to effectively manage DEI in their organizations in the context of widespread remote work arrangements.
