The multi-modal transport integration is a way to increase the global transport services. However, this integration introduces new couplings that may be safety critical. In the set of critical elements, there is the management of passenger flows within transport infrastructures. This document proposes to integrate an entity, sensitive to hazards linked to pedestrians, in a travel ontology, considering transport as a service (TAAS). In fact, each passenger is confronted with these specific dangers, caused by the synchronisation of flows between each travel episode of a trip, an aspect that is not taken into account in most existing studies within the multi-modal mobility literature. The latter deals separately with the various aspects of the trip but therefore neglects the safety aspects of pedestrian movements during intra or inter mode transfers. The conceptual proposal is therefore formalised by adding this transfer entity to the existing ontology. From a technological point of view, the second contribution consists in using pods. Pods breaks out rolling stocks in mode specific carriers and transport unit. Transport unit can be put from a given carrier onto another using an handling system like hoist or lifting cables. This global system will move the passengers, thus implementing an integrated door-to-door service avoiding pedestrian transitions. This integration, however, raises questions about the normative framework applicable to pods. The last question is the consistency of this technical proposition with actual and future needs of passengers. A first analysis is proposed considering the case of the extended influence zone of Paris, allowing the identification of two potential use cases.
