New Applications of Neurotechnologies for Neurological Disorders
摘要
The term “neurotechnology” refers to “gain of function” approaches aiming at using technologies that can interface with surviving neural system structures after a lesion or disease with the intent of supporting or replacing a lost neural function. Because “neural function” varies widely depending on the specific target disease, this chapter focuses on the technologies rather than on diseases with the goal of presenting advancement in tools that while developed with a specific disorder in mind (e.g., stroke or spinal cord injury) they can be adapted to target different conditions.
