Upper extremity fractures are among the most common fracture types in the human body. Although they can generally be diagnosed easily, various difficulties are encountered regarding their treatment, just like many other fracture types. Therefore, it becomes important to correctly diagnose and successfully treat these complex fractures. In these fractures with variable age distribution, differences in both young and aged population groups should definitely be taken into consideration when planning treatment. It is thought that there will be a significant increase in osteoporotic upper extremity fractures in the near future due to the expected increase in the elderly population. In this section, basic information regarding upper extremity fractures and the clinical approach to these fractures is summarized in light of the current literature.
