Shoulder injuries are frequently encountered, and the initial evaluation of these injuries should be aimed primarily at identifying findings that may require urgent surgical intervention. Bone and soft tissue injuries of the shoulder girdle and proximal humerus can cause significant functional impairment. Most of these injuries show a consistent relationship with the mechanism of injury. After history and physical examination, radiologic imaging is used. Radiologic imaging may require computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging in addition to X-ray imaging. Treatment options range from conservative treatment and open surgical procedures to advanced arthroscopic surgical procedures. In this chapter, common shoulder injuries such as proximal humerus fractures, acromioclavicular joint injuries, rotator cuff injuries and shoulder instability will be examined.

摘要
