Chronic rhinosinusitis has an estimated prevalence of 2.1–13.8% in the United States. While medical therapy is successful in most cases, approximately 320,000 endoscopic sinus surgeries (ESS) are performed each year [1]. Balloon sinuplasty (BSP) is a minimally invasive technique in which the device microfractures and thus dilates the natural ostium of the maxillary, frontal, and/or sphenoid sinuses. The major benefit of this technique is that bone and soft tissue are displaced without disrupting native mucosa. This allows for shorter recovery time and less risk of intraoperative bleeding compared to traditional sinus surgery. This procedure may also be more desirable to patients because it can be performed in both the office and operative setting.
