The integration of blockchain with the principles of the smart circular economy offers a pathway for redefining linear economic models, emphasizing reuse, remanufacturing and recycling to achieve sustainability goals. Furthermore, blockchain-enabled tokenization and decentralized decision-making frameworks are explored as tools for incentivizing sustainability and improving resource management. Despite its potential, blockchain adoption faces barriers, including regulatory uncertainties and technological standardization issues. This chapter underscores the necessity for strategic frameworks, stakeholder collaboration and a culture of continuous learning to fully leverage blockchain’s potential for sustainable practices.
