The circular economy and sustainable development goals have been extensively debated in recent literature, with some of the works emphasized in this overview. Despite the topic’s popularity, the relationship between circular economy (CE) and sustainable development goals (SDG) remains restricted. While CE is discussed in most studies in the context of the SDGs, the various works do not seek to analyse the link between CE and the SDGs. This chapter explores the potential of the R programming framework in facilitating the development and implementation of a smart circular economy. The study investigates the uses of R’s data analysis, visualization, and machine learning capabilities in domains such as resource optimization, waste management, life cycle assessment, and predictive modelling. The study shows how R’s broad libraries and capabilities may be used to effectively monitor resource flows, evaluate sustainability measures, and simulate circular economy methods. Blockchain technology improves circular economy closed-loop data management by enabling transparency, traceability, and security. Effective resource management requires increased operational competence and stakeholder trust. Blockchain has several benefits for circular economy data management, but scalability and regulatory difficulties remain. To maximize blockchain’s sustainability potential, these issues must be addressed.

摘要
