In several different areas of business and technology, generative artificial intelligence (AI) is perceived justifiably as having the potential to bring about substantial breakthroughs. As such, it offers completely new solutions to problems that could previously not, if at all, be handled. The sector of logistics and supply chain management is not exempt from this belief. Moreover, given that the complexity of logistics processes, networks, and data is continually increasing, and technology-driven data exchange is the prevalent means of interconnection between all actors, innovative solutions are urgently needed in order to handle this informational and operational complexity. In this paper, we provide further insights into the capacities of generative AI and the type of research questions that can be addressed with these tools.

摘要
