This study aims to evaluate the role of social media in correcting misinformation and rumors during crises, with a focus on artificial intelligence applications to analyze and combat these rumors. With the significant increase in social media use in the UAE, especially during crises such as epidemics or natural disasters, the risk of rumors spreading rapidly increases. The study relies on analyzing data from multiple social media platforms using artificial intelligence techniques such as text analysis, machine learning, and identifying key trends in the circulation and correction of fake news. Through the use of a standardized interview method with artificial intelligence specialists, the study showed that official institutions that use artificial intelligence to identify and correct rumors are able to deal with the crisis faster and more accurately, which reduces the impact of rumors on the public. The results indicated that the public tends to interact positively with corrections published by reliable sources, especially if this information is published using advanced technological tools such as artificial intelligence. However, rumors were found to spread faster than corrected information.
