The transition to sustainable agriculture is now a primary focus of agricultural policy concerns. In this context, agroecology emerges as a promising solution that simultaneously ensures food security, resilience to climate change, and especially the preservation of biodiversity, which is considered one of the principles for sustainable agriculture. The adoption of agroecological practices that respect the biological diversity is encouraged by groups of farmers and/or consumers, including RIAM—Network of Agroecological Initiatives in Morocco. This article analyzes through an empirical study, the cognitive factors influencing this transition within RIAM. It aims, firstly, to understand how the adhesion of agroecological farmers to a collective improves their practices and supports them in their transition, and secondly, to identify how knowledge is generated and shared within this collective. Ultimately, the study’s findings could guide future strategies for fostering agroecological practices and strengthening community-based initiatives in sustainable agriculture.
