Strength-Based Habit-Building
摘要
The strength-based habit-building component of SHINE emphasises the importance of character strengths as foundational resources for resilience. Based on the virtues in action model, the SHINE framework focuses on three core strengths: interpersonal, temperamental, and intellectual. It emphasises the significance of vital engagement—activities that combine flow and meaning—in enhancing well-being and resilience. Adaptive habit-building strategies are also discussed, providing a structured approach to cultivating resilience by establishing positive habits. The chapter introduces the Brief Strengths Scale (BSS-12) as a practical tool for assessing these strengths. Systematic activities are introduced to identify and exercise personal strengths, integrate them into meaningful activities, and develop them into established habits.
