Reflections on the Three Techniques of R sin 1° Iteration
摘要
The profusion of iterative algorithms for finding various forms of R sin 1° and Crd 2° that we have examined in this study testifies to the interest the problem inspired among early modern trigonometers writing in Arabic, Persian and Sanskrit. But the specific interconnections of these closely related algorithms still remain quite obscure: the questions they raise are too numerous to list, much less answer fully in the present work. In the remaining pages we briefly summarize some of the prospects for further investigation.
