This activity employs everyday life performance (ELP) to utilize performance methods across the communication curriculum in a variety of ways. ELP is a performance method that asks the practitioner to faithfully re-create (or reperform) “dramatically interesting” everyday interactions (Hopper, 182). Often, these performances are crafted from documented interviews or interactions, using either audio, video, and/or transcription as a performance text while asking the performer to pay attention to both the physical and vocal realities of the subject (Juhl, 201). This introductory performance activity asks students to reperform a brief, informal interview event in ways that can be applied in classes that cover critical thinking, nonverbal communication, interviewing, and more.

摘要
