The roles for these imaging techniques are reviewed with emphasis on quality and patient safety concerns related to radiation exposure, magnetic fields, and intravenous gadolinium contrast agent. This chapter also covers the safety of image-guided interventional procedures and special considerations for imaging pregnant patient. The potential applications and associated safety considerations of artificial intelligence in breast imaging are explored. Furthermore, quality assurance and control programs are discussed along with updated regulations and guidelines, and ongoing efforts to improve quality and patient safety in breast imaging are highlighted.
