Design of a Solar Greenhouse with an Integrated Aquaponic System
摘要
Solar greenhouses are a sustainable alternative for food production, whose design takes advantage of energy and provides a suitable environment for plant growth. Likewise, aquaponics is a symbiotic system between fish, plants, and bacteria used as an alternative to agriculture, which combines hydroponics with aquaculture, in which the wastes of animal species (fish) provide the nutrients necessary for plant growth, and the plants, in turn, are responsible for maintaining purified water. This work aimed to design a solar greenhouse that joins an aquaponic system based on evaluating the results of a prototype developed on a smaller scale. A proposal was made for a solar greenhouse design that couples a larger scale aquaponic system with a cultivation area of 4 m2, which includes a proposed solar photovoltaic energy of six panels and rainwater harvesting of 3000 L of capacity to cover the required daily consumption of 5.83 kWh and the water demand of the same.
