Indian Sign Language Interpreter - A Portable Device
摘要
A significant portion of the deaf-mute community experiences barriers in accessing education, healthcare, and employment opportunities due to communication constraints. The Indian Sign Language (ISL) Interpreter is a compact, user-friendly device that bridges the communication barrier between deaf-mutes and normal persons. The device converts hand and facial cues integrated gestures into text and audio for normal people to understand. Implementing ISL through the Portable Interpreter Device ensures a culturally relevant and effective means of communication for the Indian deaf-mute community. The dataset for training and validation has been custom-created by four independent signers. Hand and facial cues integrated self-made dataset, using computer vision techniques and machine learning tools, help in the real-time sentence-level conversion of dynamic ISL gestures into text and audio. An accuracy of 97 % ensures the efficient sentence-level conversion of ISL gestures into text and audio. ...
