Diverging Diamond Interchanges (DDIs) are an innovative form of grade separated interchange which have proven to deliver operational and safety benefits, as well as substantial cost savings in their successful implementation around the world. DDIs provide an opportunity to efficiently upgrade existing grade separated interchanges on the national road network through retrofitting, providing safety and operational benefits which align with evolving policy for sustainable road infrastructure development, and promoting the safe, efficient and sustainable mobility of people and goods in Ireland.
