Integrating Human Factors and Neuroscience Research Through Neurophysiological Metrics Across Transport Modes
摘要
The application of neurophysiology to assess human cognitive processes has gained significant momentum in recent years across all transport modes. The present contribution reports the collaborative effort between Human Factors (HF) and Neuroscience research in aviation and automotive EU projects that has led to major advances in understanding human performance and neurophysiological assessment across transport modes. An overview of the current state-of-the-art, and related best practices, in terms of neurophysiological assessment of specific HF concepts to improve transport safety and efficiency is reported, as well as the insights for the design of user-centered and effective human-machine interfaces, adaptive automation, and the development of transparent AI systems.
