In the Wake of the Dominicans
摘要
This chapter focuses on two complex periods of interregnum (1598–1601; 1606–08), as well as on the jurisdictional conflicts between the Dominican Archbishop Miguel de Benavides and the cathedral prebendaries. Finally, it addresses the disputes between governors-general and bishops, highlighting the tensions and divergences that arose from the involvement of cathedral chapters in local power structures in early modern Manila.
