Conformity of New CDF-II \(M_{W}\) with 123-Model
摘要
In the wake of the recent update on the measurement of the W boson mass by the CDF-II experiment at Fermilab, revealing a significant \(7\sigma \) deviation from the Standard Model (SM) prediction, the pivotal question arises regarding the existence of SM extensions capable of accounting for such a notable discrepancy or the potential phenomenological implications thereof. This paper delves into an exploration of the 123-model, investigating how theoretical constraints shed light on its viability. Additionally, we scrutinize the compatibility of the CDF W boson mass measurement with expectations from the 123-model, considering both theoretical and experimental constraints. The study incorporates fit results for the S and T parameters both before and after the \(m_{W}^{\mathrm {CDF}}\) measurement. In this context, our findings indicate that the 123-model prediction aligns with the measured \(m_{W}^{\mathrm {CDF}}\) at a \(95\%\) Confidence Level (CL).
