Assessing the Impact of Web Accessibility on User Satisfaction
摘要
This study investigates the effect of web accessibility on user satisfaction among individuals without disabilities. A total of 60 participants were divided into two groups and evaluated an inaccessible and an accessible version of an informational website using the Website Evaluation Questionnaire (WEQ). Website accessibility was ensured through compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and verified using the WAVE tool. Statistical analysis, including a two-tailed t-test and Cohen’s d, showed a significant improvement in user satisfaction for the accessible version, with large effect sizes observed in content (d = 0.75), ease of use (d = 0.87), and homepage (d = 0.94). The results confirm that accessible web design improves user satisfaction, even for users without disabilities, supporting the hypothesis that accessibility positively influences the overall user experience.
