The Impact of Implementing Baldrige Model on Achieving Sustainable Organizational Excellence: The Case of Oman

This study aims to explore—from the perspective of Academic and administrative staff in the College of Computing and Information System (CIT) at Sohar University in the Northern part of Oman—the Extent to which the Baldrige Model contributes to achieving sustainable organizational excellence by enhancing leadership, strategy, employee engagement, and student satisfaction. These dimensions can be enhanced by emerging technologies such as Artificial intelligence (AI), The Internet of Things (IoT), and Blockchain. In addition to revealing how the Baldrige Model is perceived, the study reports on the correlation between the Baldrige model and the various dimensions of organizational excellence. The study is based on the assumption that the Baldrige Model drives organizational excellence. Methodology: A mixed methods case study approach involving surveys administered to the academic and administrative staff of the College of Computing and Information Technology (CIT) at Sohar University was used for data collection. The survey includes twenty-five Likert Scale statements and open-ended questions aiming at highlighting viable quotes that validate quantitative results. Thematic analysis is used to identify the frequent occurrence of words and phrases that reflect the pattern within the qualitative data obtained from open-ended responses. Findings: Suggest that transformational leadership, effective strategy, employee engagement, and student satisfaction impact the College's excellence. The results also reveal the importance of utilizing AI, IoT, and Blockchain to enhance the university's operations. Originality/value: The study provides insights, via the quantitative findings and participant's voice, into the premise of transformational leadership, effective strategy, employee engagement, and student satisfaction and their impact on sustainable organizational excellence within the context of the College of Computing and Information Technology at Sohar University.
