This study explores the sustainability of printing and photocopying practices in an Omani higher education institution (OHEI) through the lens of the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) framework. It examines faculty printing and photocopying behaviors, identifies challenges to adopting sustainable practices, and identifies barriers to adopting these practices. The study then proposes strategies to encourage environmentally conscious paper usage, thus aligning with the twelfth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 12). Using a mixed-method approach, the research combines faculty surveys, interviews with departmental managers, and data from the institution's printing management system to assess current practices. The findings reveal significant gaps in sustainability efforts and provide actionable solutions to reduce paper consumption while considering environmental, economic, and social impacts. By focusing on the underexplored context of higher education in Oman, this study addresses a critical gap in the literature. Its findings offer practical recommendations for faculty, administrators, students, and policymakers to embrace sustainable practices, lower operational costs, and promote a culture of environmental responsibility in higher education.
